Neelkanth Agencies, a brand synonymous with trust, strength, and durability for over 17 years, was founded on January 26th, 2004 by the hardworking G.P. Singh ‘Lucky.’ Since that day, he has grown from strength to strength, working diligently to keep his firm at the top of its game. His genuine dedication to his profession has earned the hearts of his consumers and clients. Starting off as a cement marketer with no office, the company’s rise to the top has been spectacular. With time, it became obvious that there was a chasm between the consumer and the distributor, which the firm effectively spanned. When the firm initially started, it was one of 350 cement dealers in Goa, but it has since climbed to become one of the state’s top five cement dealers, receiving the highest sales honours for various cement brands in the region.
Singh’s passion to hard work and devotion to customer satisfaction has led him to achieve his company’s aims, culminating in his being the C&F for The India Cement Ltd for Goa since 2010 to the present, as well as the largest stockist for the same in Goa and North Karnataka. Singh, who was born into a family of veteran Indian Navy officers, had his primary education at Kendra Vidyalaya before earning a certificate in computer sciences at Bhartesh Polytechnic in Belgaum.
He subsequently joined Lucky Engineers, a family business started by his father that functioned as a contracting agency for the Government of India’s Ministry of Defence. He has ventured into trading cement in 2004 and developed a specialty brand, Neelkanth, after gathering expertise and experience and being driven by a strong desire to start something of his own.
Singh attended an in-house Leadership program for Entrepreneurs at the University of Oxford which helped him in understanding the blueprint of a leader and translating vision into reality. He has completed the Global Network Institute’s Certified International Trade Expert course. He now intends to expand into foreign markets, empowered with important insights and ambitious strategies.
His concentration on understanding the human psyche, difficult issues, and living by values has been instrumental in speeding Neelkanth’s organic development to three times since 2004, as well as a 25 percent increase in margins since 2004, resulting in some of the leading landmark projects in Goa, India. He has developed a high-performance culture with a focus on employee interactions throughout the years, while also providing chances to latent talent inside the business.
